Project Description

Portland Building

Convergence Architecture is working on a progressive design-build reconstruction project of the Portland Building, teaming with DLR Group and Howard S. Wright for the City of Portland. The project delivery method is integrated in a collaborative way to maximize the expertise, creativity, and efficiency of the team. Built in 1981, the 360,000 SF Portland Building is on the National Register of Historic Places and is regarded internationally as an example of Post-Modernism. The major renovations and seismic upgrades are forecasted to be a $195M project. The main goals for the project are to improve the efficiency and functionality of the building as a workplace, in addition to reconstructing the building envelope and M/E/P systems. As a certified W/ESB/DBE firm, Convergence Architecture is fully integrated with the larger team, working directly and collaboratively with the architect of record and contractor to deliver a successful project for the City of Portland.
